Revlon - Whimsical
Revlon's Whimsical is a very light and cloudy blue with baby blue and baby pink glitter. It also has very fine holographic blue/green glitter in it that is very difficult to pick up in photos (it's much more apparent in person). It's also a really good dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop (although I have heard Whimsical is better).

I first tried this polish on top of a simple basecoat, but thought it was too sheer, so I decided to try it on top of two coats of China Glaze's White on White. I only did one coat of Whimsical in the picture above because I wanted the white to stay as bright as possible. The more it is layered, the more blue it looks.

While I do really like this color, overall, I am a tiny bit disappointed in it. I wanted the cloudy blue to be more opaque because it's absolutely gorgeous in the bottle. I'm sure I could eventually get it there, but I don't have the patience to do more than two or three coats before I get bored. I will settle for it layered over the white, though. I really like it. :)

Has anyone else noticed all the adorably cute ballet flats around lately? I may be noticing them now because I didn't used to be a huge fan of them, but I can't seem to stop looking at them, lately. I love that they're so comfortable and can go with basically anything.

Here are some that I have been stalking recently.

How comfortable do these look?
Lucky Brand Emmie Ballet Flats - $39.99 here, at lordandtaylor.com.

These Kate Spades are one of my favorites. I love the combination of the cream and black. And the bow with the little gold tassels is such a cute added touch.
Kate Spade New York Heather Flats - $179 here, at zappos.com.

How cute are these little mouse flats? I love them! When on Earth will we, as adults, get another free pass at wearing cute little animals on our feet? After the age of 6, it's typically frowned upon, so I'll take any chance I can get!
Marc by Marc Jacobs Studded Mouse Flats - $250 here, at shopbop.com.

A friend of mine recently purchased these and I am insanely jealous. They are ridiculously adorable. I wish we wore the same size shoe because I would totally thief them from her!
Prada Patent Buckle Flats - $499.95 here, at DSW.com.

I have been stalking these for the past, oh I don't know, 4ish months? I can't get enough of them. I love the ivory and black together. And the little spikes with the bow. Genius. I'm just so in love with them.
Sam Edelman Beatrix Flats - $91 here, at bloomingdales.com.

These flats were the first to open my eyes to the world of ballet flats. They're so simple and classic.  I really feel like you can't go wrong with them!
Tory Burch Reva Flats - $195 at here, at net-a-porter.com.

I love the look of a maxi skirt with an oversized top. And when you pair them with a pair of flats and a few accessories that aren't completely over the top, the outfit just screams casual and comfortable. But not in a 'Walking through Walmart in Sponge Bob pajama pants' kind of way. Ew.

I'm also really feeling orange lately. I don't typically like orange, but when it is paired with peaches or lighter oranges, I feel like it's more tolerable.

1. Helmut Lang Pebble-knit Sweater - $167 here, at MatchesFashion.com.
2. Tea With the Queen - $14 here, at ButterLondon.com.
3. Orange Floor Length Skirt - $48 here, at Sheinside.com.
4. Chunky Gold Cuff - $17 here, at DorothyPerkins.com.
5. Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals in Whiskey - $65 here, at Amazon.com.
6. Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody in Orange - $149 here, at Forzieri.com.

I can't be the only mom struggling to find ways to keep my toddler entertained during the hot summer months. A new toy only seems to keep M entertained for so long before it is tossed into the toy box with all the other toys.

Let me introduce you to endless amounts of Summer entertainment for your toddler and a sanity saver for yourself. The blowup pool. Seriously, this is the best $20 I have spent in a very long time.

I also purchased a little fishing rod that came with 4 brightly colored fish. The fish and the rod both have magnets on them so he can 'catch' them. Cute, entertaining, and hello, it cost less than $3. It doesn't get much better than that.

We have had this pool for almost a week and M still begs to go outside and play in it. Almost a week later and he still loves it! Score! Job well done, Mom. And the best part about him being completely entertained while in the pool means I can get in some much needed reading time. Ohh how I have missed my Kindle! I have been reading the same book for almost a month now, but it looks as though this pool is going to help me get it finished.

If you don't have one of these babies, you need to get one. Think of it as an investment. An investment that will help you get through the Summer with your sanity.

Essie - Cute As A Button
How summery is this color? It's definitely a hot pink, but it has a lot of coral in it as well. While picking it out, I was stuck between it and Peach Daiquiri, which is very very similar. I decided on Cute As A Button, though, because the name is way cuter. :)

Happy Summer, guys!

I think I may have found a new favorite top coat. I have been using one by Julep for a while, but my bottle is starting to get low, so I decided to go ahead and pick up another while I was at Walgreens. I was looking in the Rimmel London section and saw that they had one called Crystal Clear, so I thought I would give it a go.

While I was in the car, I noticed something interesting about the brush. It's gigantic! It's the size of two normal brushes put together, which makes applying the top coat super fast.

I did my nails as soon as I got home, so I am now on day three with the same manicure and have zero chipping and almost no wear on the tips of my nails. I almost always have at least a tiny bit of chipping at the tips by the end of day two, but alas, nothing! Sweet!

I purchased my bottle of Rimmel London's Crystal Clear at Wagreens for $4.49, but I was unable to find it on their website. I was able to find it on Ulta's website, though. Click here to check it out!

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if Crystal Clear is being sold as a top coat, as Rimmel also has a Base & Top Coat. I am however, using it as one.

Granola bars are one of my and M's favorite snacks. We typically eat them when we're out running errands and  don't want anything fast-foody, however, as much as we like them, they can be pretty spendy. $4.00+ a box for just a handful of bars is a bit much in my opinion, so when you combine that with not knowing exactly what is going into them, I'm reluctant to buy them.

I've spent the last, oh, I don't know, year(?) looking for a recipe that doesn't consist of 5,000 steps and 150 ingredients, but I haven't been able to find one. So, I decided to make my own and this is what I have come up with. They may not be the absolute healthiest, but we're not eating them by the twos and I know exactly what is going into them.

Ingredients
1/2 Cup of Honey
2/3 Cup of packed brown sugar
1/2 Cup of Butter
4 Cups of rolled quick oats
2 Cups of Rice Crispy cereal
1 1/2 Tsp of vanilla
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
Mini chocolate chips
Any other dried fruit or nuts you want to add (optional)

What To Do
1) Melt your butter in a medium pot/pan.

2) Once melted, add your honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

3) Let boil for a couple of minutes and. Stir stir stir!

4) Combine your Rice Crispy cereal and quick oats in a large bowl.

5) Pour liquid mixture into your dry mixture and mix well. This would also be a good time to add whatever dried fruits and/or nuts you want.

6) Pour mixture onto a greased baking sheet and pat down firmly with a spoon. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top and pat down with spoon as well.

7) Let sit until cool before cutting into bars and wrapping in wax paper, saran wrap, or aluminium foil. Store at room temperature.

I'm soooo in love with these nails! They're very Springy/Summmery, yet subtle and not too in your face with the glitter.

The base coat is a very light baby pink. On top of that, I put a coat of another light, sheer pink that has very find champagne colored glitter in it. On the lower half of the nails, I put a coat of silver glitter that has larger chunks of pink glitter in it.

I would like to say that I came up with this concept all on my own, but sadly, I didn't. It came in a little kit by a brand called Beauty World, which is a Japanese brand. A friend of mind gifted them to me and I absolutely love them!

I love, maybe, a handful of things about Summer. I'm just not that into it, to be honest. However, one of the things I do like about it is the footwear! Sandals to be more specific. Flat sandals, heeled sandals, platform sandals, wedge sandals - I love them all, but I am a bit partial to the flats.

I've been doing a little looking around stalking online and these are what I'm loving thus far.
